Mystery Lovers Bookshop welcomes award-winning authors Erin Entrada Kelly and Eliot Schrefer ! Erin is a two-time Newbery Medalist (Hello, Universe and The First State of Being), and Eliot is a two-time National Book Award finalist and Printz and Stonewall Honor recipient.
Together, they’ve teamed up on Fatal Glitch: Let’s Play a Game, the second installment in their middle grade techno-horror series, described as Black Mirror meets Goosebumps and recommended for readers ages 9+.

Living History Day! Colonial Playtime and Pastimes

Letters to Neighbors
Did you ever wish for a pen pal? Now’s your chance to connect with a neighbor and exchange letters every month! We’ll pair you with a senior adult pen pal from Bethel Park’s Lifespan group and each month will hold new ideas and activities. After three exchanges, we’ll meet our pen pals in person for a fun social gathering before the holidays!
Consistent attendance is strongly encouraged, but activities can be done at home and dropped off at the Library, so occasional missed meetings should not discourage anyone from participating. For grades K-5. Register for each session separately beginning on the first of the respective month.

Etna Library Opening
Celebrate the opening of the Etna Center for Community!
The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will take place at the rear of the building at 54 Locust St., Etna, PA 15223. The remainder of the celebration will take place inside the Etna Center for Community at 341 Butler St. and along Locust Street between Walnut Street and VFW Way.
This event will commemorate and celebrate the completion of construction and the opening of the Etna Center for Community. Following a ten-year development process, including two years of construction, Etna’s library doors will finally open. This day-long celebration will welcome community members of all ages to their new home on Etna’s main street.
This event is free and open to the public.
- 11 a.m. Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
- 11:30 a.m the library will open for community members to visit and explore.
- 12–5 p.m. Programs will be held inside and outside of the library.
A street fair will take place on Locust Street. Food and drinks will be available throughout the event. The event will take place concurrently with activities in and around the business district, including the annual Haunted Garden of Etna. Costumes are welcome!

Foster Grandparents Program
The Wesley Family Services Foster Grandparent Program is a stipend volunteer program that provides volunteer opportunities to limited income individuals age 55 and over, connecting generations, while improving educational outcomes for children in need.
Volunteers serve as classroom grandparents who are mentors and positive role models at local non-profit organizations such as: public and private schools, Head Starts, daycares and child development centers, in addition to after-school programs. They help, guide, and assist children by developing skills in literacy, language, math, and cognitive development, as well as improving essential social and emotional intelligence.
