More Emmys for OnQ!
WQED Multimedia's flagship program, OnQ Magazine, received Emmy Awards from the National Television Academy in two categories at a ceremony in Philadelphia on September 18.

OnQ was voted Outstanding Magazine Format Broadcast in the Mid-Atlantic Region for an episode featuring stories on the Dixmont mental institution and Pittsburgh glass sculptor Steve Eisenhauer.

OnQ also won the Emmy for Outstanding Programming Feature/Entertainment. "Row On For Brendan" told the story of "Irish Night," a concert in memory of Brendan Foley, a Central Catholic High School student who died in 1996.

OnQ received the Juvenile Justice Award from the Allegheny County Bar Association for its 13-part series "Lessons For Life." 
This collaborative effort between the OnQ and WQED Education Resource Center staffs, showcased local people and organizations that keep young people out of trouble.

MAY 17, 2004
OnQ's "Dixmont: Breakdown of a Mental Hospital" was named Best Television Feature in the state by the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters. 
The PAB award went to producer David Solomon, videographer Paul Ruggieri and reporter Andy Masich.

MAY 10, 2004
OnQ picked up the Best Television Feature honor at the 40th Annual Golden Quill Awards. 
Producer David Solomon, videographer Paul Ruggieri and reporter Andy Masich won for "A Pilot's Story," reflections of a World War II veteran who survived a Japanese POW camp.

The Golden Quills are sponsored by the Western Pennsylvania Press Club to recognize outstanding journalism.
