Blueprints is a change agency that shapes futures by equipping and educating people to improve their lives. Incorporated as a Community Action Agency in 1965 to serve Washington & Greene Counties, Blueprints now operates 35+ programs that serve 20,000 lower-income participants annually. In 2015, Blueprints added foster care and adoption programs that serve additional Pennsylvania counties and the state of West Virginia.
Since its founding, Blueprints’ mission has been: To serve as the catalyst to mobilize the resources of the entire community to enable families and individuals to attain the skills, knowledge, motivations and opportunities needed to become self-sufficient.
Each Blueprints’ program fits within one of four service pillars:
- MIND: From ABCs to GEDs and beyond, participants learn everything needed to build futures through Early Head Start, Head Start, Pre-Kindergarten, Getting Ahead and Truancy Prevention.
- HOME: From safety for kids to stability for families, participants establish a place to live and thrive through Foster Care & Adoption, Independent & Transitional Living, the Home Ownership Center and Rental & Utility Assistance.
- HEALTH: From health checks to healthy greens and grains, participants stay active and strong through Women, Infants and Children (WIC), Senior Centers, Senior Care Management, Home Delivered Meals and Community Health Initiatives.
- WALLET: From budget basics to savings strategies, participants earn and balance livable wages through Career Development, Ways to Work, Financial Literacy, Matched Savings Accounts and Volunteer Income Tax Assistance.
WHAT WE OFFER
Blueprints features a Career Development Program where income-eligible participants receive support in determining a career path, developing resumes, applying for jobs, contacting employers and preparing for interviews. Participants interested in transitioning to degree or certificate programs are linked to contacts at area postsecondary schools and receive help applying for financial assistance and/or scholarships.
Blueprints offers competitive salaries, flexible work schedules, 15-paid holidays, generous benefit leave, family healthcare packages and matched-retirement savings for full-time positions. The agency is currently recruiting for vacant positions including mid-level managers, case managers, early learning teachers, teachers’ assistants and substitutes.
Blueprints is currently recruiting Family Support Assistants to help lead recruitment and enrollment efforts for Early Learning Programs. After 18-months of employment, Family Support Assistants will be eligible to receive the National Head Start Association’s Family Service Certification for free. These assistants will also gain valuable experience in human services and be encouraged to obtain additional certificates and degrees in order to continue to advance at Blueprints.
