East of the River- Daphna Mor
This Saturday, in Hicks Memorial Chapel, Chatham Baroque and Renaissance and Baroque present East of the River who will give two performances - 5pm and 8pm. East of the River performs music from Jewish and Ottoman traditions of the 13th through 18th centuries. Listeners will hear Hebrew, Arabic, and Ladino (Medieval Judaeo-Spanish) in this program consisting of songs and dances from liturgical and folk traditions, and will hear examples of classical instrumental music from the Ottoman court as well.
