Transformations presented by Texture Contemporary Ballet
March 15 @ 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm
Invigorate your life and be inspired by our dancers’ passion and artistry as we take the stage for the final performances of our 2023-2024 season!
In this production of Transformations, Artistic Director Alan Obuzor premieres his newest work, which includes music curated to reflect themes of change, transition, and the natural ebb and flow of life that we all experience. The variety of musical artists in this piece include Anesthesia, Fun, Glass Animals, and The Airborne Toxic Event.
Resident dancer Madeline Kendall Schreiber’s new creation explores the process of cultivation and growth – from planting seeds to rainfall, germination, and blooming. Rounding out the program is Yes, a sharp work for two dancers, as well as an expansion of resident dancer Katie Miller’s piece from our 2018 WIP performance, featuring music by Franz Liszt. Alan Obuzor’s Breathe also takes the stage for the first time at the New Hazlett Theater – this piece was the first piece Texture created and performed outdoors during the return of live performances in 2021.
