Friday Afternoon Musicale: A Journey Through the Eyes of Music: Works by Liszt, Debussy, Ravel, Albeniz, Kapustin, Guarnieri, and Liebermann

FreeOur guest artist, Pianist Amy Simpson will present a program of ‘Travel through Music’ at Chatham University’s Friday Afternoon Musicale on April 19th at 4:00 p.m. featuring works by Liszt, Debussy, Ravel, Albeniz, Kapustin, Guarnieri and Liebermann. This imaginative program brings the sounds of various romantic, impressionist, and contemporary composers, as they “paint” beautiful nature scenes and images of special places, along with idioms from the Americas.
Pianist Amy Simpson is an Adjunct Faculty member at West Virginia University and an instructor for the Preparatory School at Carnegie Mellon University. Amy also presents workshops for musicians on neuromusic based on her doctoral research.
The concert is free and open to the public.
