Dan Gilman currently serves as Chief of Staff and Senior Advisor to Duquesne University President Ken Gormley. Prior to his appointment at Duquesne, Mr. Gilman served as Chief of Staff to Pittsburgh Mayor William Peduto where he was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the City, including management of the City’s 3,400 person workforce, the City’s legislative agenda, strategic communications, and community engagement strategy. Mr. Gilman also served on Pittsburgh City Council representing the 8th District.

Mr. Gilman was selected to join The New DEAL, a national network committed to highlighting pragmatic progressives with innovative ideas at the state and local level. He has also been recognized as one of Pittsburgh’s “40 Under 40” by Pittsburgh Magazine and Pittsburgh Urban Magnet Project, as well as one of Pittsburgh’s “50 Finest” by Whirl Magazine.

Mr. Gilman is excited to use his community connections to further expand the reach of WQED programming and workforce development programs.

Mr. Gilman graduated with honors from Carnegie Mellon University with a degree in Ethics, History, and Public Policy.

Mr. Gilman, his wife Amanda, and their two kids, live in Squirrel Hill.
