Grounded
George Brant's powerful one-woman show follows a gutsy fighter pilot whose unexpected pregnancy puts her career on hold. When she gets back in the game, flying has a whole new meaning: operating remote-controlled drones in Afghanistan from an air-conditioned trailer near Las Vegas. Hunting terrorists by day and being a wife and mother by night, the pilot's struggle to navigate her dual identities is her toughest mission yet.

Puccini's La Boheme
It's Christmas Eve in Paris, and the young poet Rodolfo (David Lomeli) meets the love of his life, Mimi (Leah Crocetto). Their time together is a poignant picture of poverty and illness, shared by friends. The entrancing set captures the charm and vigor of 19th-century Paris. Sari Gruber is Musetta, Troy Cook is Marcello, and Kevin Glavin is cast as Benoit/Alcindoro.

Transcriptions for Piano and Organ
Pittsburgh pianist Nathan Carterette and organist Edward Alan Moore perform Franz Liszt's Totentanz and George Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue; two works originally for piano and orchestra. The orchestral paret will be played on a 1926 Skinner organ ideally suited to orchestral transcription. The program will also include works for solo piano and solo organ.

Carnegie Mellon Wind Ensemble
George Vosburgh, Thomas Thompson, and Stephen Story, conduct the Carnegie Mellon Wind Ensemble in a program including Mendelssohn's Overture for Wind Band in C Major, Mahler's "Der Grosse Appel" sequence from Symphony # 2, Alan Fletcher's Clarinet Concerto featuring Michael Rusinek, and Mahler's Um Mitternacht, from the Ruckert Lieder, sung by Tami Fire.

French Music for Harp and Strings
Violinist Dawn Posey and harpist Nuiko Wadden (members of the Pittsburgh Opera Orchestra) will present a program of French music including works by Jacques Ibert, Andre Caplet, Maurice Ravel and the premiere of a new duo by Pittsburgh composer Mark Fromm. Guest artists: Katie Pierson, violin; Marylene Gingras Roy, viola; and Katya Janpoladyan, cello. Suggested donation: $10.

Inspired by a 90-minute city bus ride, these artists have just 24 hours to write, direct, and memorize six new 10-minute plays.
