The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Mid-Atlantic Chapter has honored WQED Multimedia with four Emmy© Awards. The winners were announced at a ceremony in Philadelphia. The following programs and staff members were recognized with Emmy statuettes.

The Race to Save Pennsylvania Bats has been chosen as an official selection of the 2014 American Conservation Film Festival. The event promotes outstanding films and the arts that educate and inspire people to become engaged in conservation. The award-winning documentary was written and produced for WQED by Gina Catanzarite. The 2014 festival runs from October 30 through November 2 in Shepherdstown, West Virginia.

Portraits for the Home Front: The Story of Elizabeth Black was selected to receive a CINE Golden Eagle Award. This award recognizes excellence in production through CINE's thorough and renowned jury process. CINE (Council on International Non-Theatrical Events" honored "Portraits" in the category of Televised Documentary & Performance Division - History. The WQED documentary was written and produced by David Solomon, with camera and editing by Paul Ruggieri.

Portraits for the Home Front: The Story of Elizabeth Black received the national Gabriel Award in the category of Television Arts. Producer David Solomon accepted the statuette at a ceremony in Charlotte, North Carolina. Gabriel Awards are presented by the Catholic Academy of Communication Arts Professionals to films and programs throughout North America that uplift the human spirit by focusing on people who foster community, creativity, tolerance, justice and compassion.

WQED Multimedia was honored with six Golden Quill Awards. Presented by the Press Club of Western Pennsylvania, the awards recognize excellence in print, broadcast, and interactive media in the region extending north to Erie and east to State College.

Portraits for the Home Front: The Story of Elizabeth Black has won the Edward R. Murrow Award as best news documentary in region 11, which consists of entries from New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Written and produced by David Solomon, with camera and editing by Paul Ruggieri, the documentary now competes for the national Murrow Award in June 2014.

The Race To Save Pennsylvania's Bats was screened as an official selection at the 2014 Environmental Film Festival in the Nation's Capitol. Founded in 1993, the festival has become one of the world’s largest and most influential showcases of environmental film and a major collaborative cultural event in Washington, D.C.
