The Veterans Leadership Program of Western Pennsylvania honored WQED with its Community Advocate Award. The station was recognized for its continued support of veterans through radio, online, publishing, educational efforts and television broadcasts, including numerous OnQ feature reports and documentaries.

WQED Wins 7 Emmy Awards
Six of the 7 Emmys are for OnQ specials and OnQ feature stories. WQED competes in the Mid-Atlantic Region of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. Emmy statuettes were presented at a ceremony in Philadelphia to the following WQED team members.

OnQ's documentary One Year In Brownsville has been selected for inclusion into the permanent collection of The Paley Center for Media. In making the announcement, The Paley Center wrote that WQED has produced "a program of social and historical importance, demonstrating how local television stations make significant and positive impacts on their immediate communities." One Year in Brownsville will now be available for viewing in the prestigious Paley collections in New York and Los Angeles.
