Michael Bartley has been chosen as the 2005 recipient of "The Bill Burns Award."
The Art Rooney Award Dinner committee informed Michael "you have been nominated and recommended by both your peers in the field and by several committee members who were very moved by your powerful work." Michael joins some well-known and prestigious honorees including Pittsburgh Steelers Coach Bill Cowher who will accept "The Art Rooney Award."

March of Dimes’ Tenth Annual Achievement in Radio (AIR) Award

WQED fm89.3 received the March of Dimes’ Tenth Annual Achievement in Radio (AIR) Award in the Advertising category for its Volunteer in the Arts Award (VITA) promotion.  The awards were presented to local radio broadcasters at a ceremony on November 30.

NCTE Award for supporting literacy

WQED Multimedia wins NCTE Award for supporting literacy - Education and Community Resource Center Honored by National Councils of Teachers of English.

Telly Awards

"Lessons for Life" project, which was conceived by Karen Farmer-White and the Education & Community Resource Center.  The ECRC partnered with OnQ to create a year-long television campaign that showcased successful social programs that help at-risk youth.

Lifetime Achievement Award from the McKeesport Symphony Orchestra

Jim Sweenie received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the McKeesport Symphony Orchestra in a ceremony at the Youghiogheney Country Club. The Stolarevsky Award is named for the founding  conductor of the Symphony.
