On May 29, 2025, members of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra held a concert titled “Spotlight on African American Composers.” The concert was held at St. James AME Church and featured music of Kevin Day, Adolphus Hailstork, Jeff Scott, and Valerie Coleman.
