Our Compelling Interests: Out of Many Faiths

A Community Forum

This town hall meeting focused on the importance of religious diversity - notably during these times of hate crimes and intolerance. Produced in collaboration with the University of Michigan's Center for Social Solutions and Carnegie Mellon University, the organizers chose Pittsburgh not only because of the city’s Tree of Life synagogue mass shooting tragedy but for its efforts as a city to heal and overcome.

Panelists:
Eboo Patel, author of Out of Many Faiths
Rabbi Jeffrey Myers, Tree of Life Synagogue
Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto
Robert Jones, Public Religion Research Institute
Host: Lisa Washington.

Coordinated by Our Compelling Interests series editors Earl Lewis and Nancy Cantor, and The Center for Social Solutions at the University of Michigan, in collaboration with Carnegie Mellon University and the Center for Africanamerican Urban Studies and the Economy. Funding provided by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.  Produced by WQED Multimedia.
