MyBlueprints.org
Blueprints is a change agency that shapes futures by equipping and educating people to improve their lives. Incorporated as a Community Action Agency in 1965 to serve Washington & Greene Counties, Blueprints now operates 35+ programs that serve 20,000 lower-income participants annually. In 2015, Blueprints added foster care and adoption programs that serve additional Pennsylvania counties and the state of West Virginia.
Since its founding, Blueprints’ mission has been: To serve as the catalyst to mobilize the resources of the entire community to enable families and individuals to attain the skills, knowledge, motivations and opportunities needed to become self-sufficient.
Catalyst Connection
This workforce development organization connects those looking for employment with manufacturers who have jobs to fill. Resources include the Making Your Future Program that provides those living in disadvantaged communities one-year of career counseling and job development services and the Industrial Manufacturing Technical Apprenticeship Program that helps entry-level workers enhance their skills. They also have games that you can play on your mobile device that have information about the high demand careers in manufacturing.
The Corner (PennState/NewKen)
Conveniently located along 5th Avenue in New Kensington, The Corner anchors the rapidly developing Corridor of Innovation business district, serves as the area’s premier shared office (coworking) space, and is home of Penn State’s New Kensington’s innovation hub, hosting free entrepreneurial and small business development support and programming.
The Corner is proud to offer coworking members, students, and the local community access to free entrepreneurial and business programming through The Corner Launchbox, an Invent Penn State initiative. Working with business coaches and experts, prospective entrepreneurs and established small business owners can receive free legal advice through the Penn State Entrepreneur Assistance Law and Intellectual Law Clinics, access one-on-one business coaching and mentorship programs, and participate in any of the numerous other events and outreach activities.
The City Mission
At City Mission, our aim is to share Christ, to shelter, to heal, and to restore the homeless to independent living – without discrimination. We are a 175-bed homeless rehabilitation program serving four separate populations: men, women, women with children, and veterans.
Our Career Training and Education Center offers assistance with job searching, resume building, and connections with local employers to both residents of our program and community members. We have extensive experience and expertise in providing career assistance to those in the recovery community. We are empathetic to the specific barriers those in recovery struggle against as they navigate their career journey, and we have the skills and knowledge to find personalized solutions.
The Digital Foundry
The Digital Foundry is dedicated to improving lives and strengthening business through digital technologies and know- how. We do this by driving the growth of ideas, learning and problem solving through the application of digital technologies. Specifically, we focus on delivering education & workforce training, accelerating innovation through technology demonstration and provide for the networking of business, academia, and community for economic growth.
EmployHER/Dress for Success
EmployHER Pittsburgh is a collaboration between Dress for Success Pittsburgh, When She Thrives, and New Century Careers. EmployHER Pittsburgh is designed to remove barriers like childcare and transportation through pop up engagement events, bringing nonprofit resources and prospective employers to the communities of women across Allegheny County. Each woman who attends the opportunity fair is supported by a success partner to help them set and achieve their self-defined goals over a six-month period. EmployHER Pittsburgh combines the successful programming of the three partnering organizations to provide long term supportive services and greater connections to resources, with a goal of providing access to better employment, personal development, and education opportunities for women in Allegheny County. Ignite Business Incubator at Washington & Jefferson College
Ignite is a business incubator and co-working space, owned and operated by Washington & Jefferson College, that is designed to serve start-up and existing small businesses. Our programming and co-working office space are intended to empower, support, educate and connect Washington County businesses. We are focused on driving community impact and economic development by serving as a catalyst for the growth of new businesses, existing small businesses, and non-profits across Washington County.

Partner4Work is the workforce development organization that connects funding, expertise and opportunities for employers, job seekers, agencies, and policy makers to develop a thriving workforce in the Pittsburgh area.
