Paul Cosentino, clarinet soloist and founder of the Boilermaker Five band reveals the plan to refurbish instruments and put them in the hands of aspiring musicians with a concert to celebrate in East Liberty’s Ace Hotel. The collection starts at 2pm Friday June 8 with help from the D’Addario Foundation and Hungry For Music partnering with Todd Rundgren’s Spirit of Harmony Foundation. Paul details the history of the Boilermakers with a catalog of 12 cds and thousands of performances including several fundraisers at WQED-FM. Paul includes in the discussion his cd Slipped Disc which celebrates the record of the same name by Benny Goodman and gives us a sneak preview of the new cd on the way.

Reduced Shakespeare Company - May 31, 2018
Reduced Shakespeare Company returns for Shakespeare’s recently discovered Long Lost First Play (abridged) found in a parking lot in Leicester England near a pile of old bones. Reduced from it’s original running time of over one hundred hours, it touches on many of Shakespeare’s most well-known themes whether he ever existed or not. Founding members of the company. Austin Tichenor and Reed Martin. remember the famous performance the company gave at 35,000 feet and their reduction of Wagner’s Ring cycle to under 30 minutes and suggest several good reasons why you should not miss their visit to Pittsburgh Public Theater.
