FRIDAY, MAY 20 – 8PM

Jim Cunningham hosts a live broadcast of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra from Heinz Hall.  Matthias Pintscher conducts Ravel’s “Mother Goose” and “Alborada del gracioso.”  Alexi Kenney plays the Bartok Violin Concerto No. 2.  Also, Debussy’s “La Mer.”  Jim will be backstage during intermission with interviews.

FRIDAY, JUNE 17 – 8PM

The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra closes out their 2021-2022 concert season the weekend of June 17-19. WQED-FM will broadcast the Friday (June 17) evening concert live as Emanuel Ax returns to Heinz Hall to perform the Mozart Piano Concerto No. 20. Manfred Honeck conducts the Tchaikovsky Symphony No. 5 and the Pittsburgh Premiere of “Five Pieces” by Erwin Schuhoff. The broadcast begins at 8pm live with Jim Cunningham as host, who will also be backstage during intermission with artist interviews.
