WSO Summer Philharmonic Wind Ensemble Concert

FreeThe Westmoreland Symphony Orchestra Academy of Music’s Summer Philharmonic will present a free Wind Ensemble concert on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at 8:00 p.m. at Seton Hill University’s Performing Arts Center, downtown Greensburg.
Music Director Morrie Brand conducts the concert that includes three movements of the English Folk Song Suite by Vaughan Williams, followed by Wagner’s Elsa’s Procession to the Cathedral. He will conduct his own piece, Concerto for Trombone and Wind Ensemble, featuring guest artist, Kevin McManus, trombone. Kevin is one of the top free-lance trombonists in the Pittsburgh area and is well-known in the Greensburg community. The concert concludes with Gustav Holst’s “Jupiter” from the Planets and American Salute by Morton Gould. The concert is free and open to the public.
