Steinway Society of Western PA presents Dmitry Yudin, pianist
The Steinway Society of Western Pennsylvania is thrilled to present pianist DMITRY YUDIN, prizewinner of the 2024 Geza Anda Competition, in a Sunday afternoon solo recital at Carnegie Mellon University. He will perform a wide-ranging program featuring music by Beethoven, Brahms, Bartók, and Eisler. A free “Meet the Artist” reception follows the recital, providing an opportunity to personally connect with the artist.

Born in Moscow in 2001, Dmitry Yudin studied with Lydia Grigoryeva at the Gnessin School of Music from a very young age before moving to New York, where he studied with Horacio Gutierrez at the Manhattan School of Music from 2019 onwards. Since August 2025, he continues his education with Stanislav Ioudenitch at Park University, Kansas. At the MSM, he was awarded a full scholarship and played a series of solo recitals for the school during the pandemic. In February 2022, he won the MSM Eisenberg-Fried Concerto Competition with Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 2. In 2023, Dmitry played a recital in Boston after winning the HMA Foote Award. Moreover, he won the third prize at the New York Concert Artists Auditions, and the second prize at the Wideman Concerto Competition in Van Cliburn’s hometown Shreveport, Louisiana. His performance record includes concertos with orchestras such as the Baltic States Youth Symphony Orchestra, Baltic Music Academy Symphony Orchestra, St Petersburg State Academic Symphony Orchestra, Tomsk Academic Symphony Orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra of the Bulgarian National Radio, Sofia, and the Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra under Gábor Takács-Nagy, with whom he played Mozart’s 15th Piano Concerto in Switzerland in September 2025.
