Every Son a Soldier: Military Service on the Upper Ohio Frontier, 1775-1783

Join us at the Fort Pitt Museum in Pittsburgh, PA, for a presentation by David Ervin as part of the 2025 Fort Pitt Speaker Saturdays. David P. Ervin is an infantry veteran of the Iraq War who went on to study at West Virginia University, earning a BA in early American History. He has written a war memoir and numerous other works in nonfiction and fiction. He is a member of the Sons of the American Revolution. This presentation is included with regular museum admission.

This presentation will examine the variety of military organizations in which frontier inhabitants served, including the militia, state troops, and the Continental Army. It will further explore the wartime political, military, and economic conditions of the region that shaped these organizations.
