Music For Food: Romantic Piano Pieces
February 24, 2024 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Cash donations to benefit Greater Pittsburgh Community Food BankJoin us at Chatham University for an afternoon of Romantic Piano Pieces, featuring works by Robert Schumann. All proceeds will benefit the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. This program presents three of Schumann’s most beloved works, exuberant, virtuosic, and tuneful, all written in his twenties. “Papillons” was inspired by the writings of the French author Jean Paul, the “David’s-League Dances” are consumed with the composer’s new-found passion for Clara Wieck, and the Symphonic Etudes are a monument to his obsession with developing piano technique to the highest possible levels of difficulty.
