MMF CutTime® Classical Stage Day 1

May 15 @ 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Free

The 2026 Millvale Music Festival features a classical music stage in St. Nicholas Church that is home to the century-old murals of Croatian artist Maxo Vanka. This stage is sponsored a third year by CutTime Productions and Mrs. Barbara Van Dusen of Michigan to present:

Schola Cantorum singers of St. Michael the Archangel Church of Mt. Lebanon 4:30p – 5:15
The Millvale Festival Orchestra 5:30p-6:30
and Trubaduri Croatian folk 6:45p-7:30

Schola Cantorum is 8 singers led by Chaz Bowers focused on the beginning of Western music notation over 1,000 years old. Gregorian chant, early masses and motets rouse our souls with Latin incantations. Expect to learn something that deepens our appreciation.

The Millvale Festival Orchestra this year has an ambitious program of Richard Wagner’s “Siegfried Idyll” conducted by Jiddu Vega, celebrated Millvale composer Nancy Galbraith’s latest double concerto “The Forest Cathedral” and Gustav Mahler’s “Ruckert Lieder,” both conducted by Jordan Berlin Speranzo. Soloists in the Galbraith are flutists Erin Higgins and Claire Gunsburry-Massey. And the vocalist for Mahler is Kate Manuel.

Trubaduri îs a fan favorite group of men sharing Croatian music, language, dances and more!

CutTime Productions is the artistic enterprise and mission of former Detroit Symphony double bassist-composer Rick Robinson (aka Mr. CutTime) intent on sharing classical and especially symphonic music in places and in ways orchestras cannot. This effort moved to Pittsburgh with him in 2022. Whether in a school, a house of worship, on festival stages, in a bar or club, a living room or a backyard, CutTime® creates shortcuts into classical, sometimes with a drummer.

Doors open at 4:00p. Parking is very limited, but the early time makes it easier. ACCESS: there is wheel-chair access to the sanctuary on the south side, yet NO access to the only bathrooms located in the basement.
DROP-OFF and PICK-UP at the St. Nicholas main door is fine.

Be sure to return for DAY 2 of the CutTime Classical Stage 2026!
