The Calvary Episcopal Church Choir will present a Service of Christmas Lessons and Carols on Sunday, December 21st, at 4:00 p.m. The church at 315 Shady Avenue is especially beautiful at dusk and is a vivid reminder of the movement from darkness to light that is central to the Advent and Christmas seasons. The readings will highlight the themes of both, and the musical responses that follow reflect those ideas in a variety of ways. The choir will sing works by Briggs, Hassler, Lewis, Scarlatti, Victoria, Willan, and Wood and also lead the congregation in hymns and carols for the season. The choir is led by Dr. Alan J. Lewis and accompanied by Jon Tyillian, organ. A reception will follow.
