WHAT: On Friday, September 27, 2024, from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM, the iconic Pittsburgh art destination Maser Galleries will celebrate a milestone 50th Anniversary with a special event at its flagship location at 5427 Walnut Street, Pittsburgh PA. Gisele Fetterman will attend to help host a raffle and auction of various art works to benefit the community support organization For Good PGH that she co-founded with Kristen Maser. Additionally, the event will feature special sale pricing of artwork, light refreshments for all guests provided by Shady Grove and Brew Gentleman, music, memories, giveaways and special VIP appearances TBA.
A long-time hub for art dealership and discovery, Maser Galleries was founded by husband and wife Ron “Lefty” and Brenda Maser in 1974 following Lefty’s tenure as the Pittsburgh Manager of Arts International – an organization established by famed art dealer Jack Soloman – to represent and distribute original oil paintings. In the 1970s Maser Galleries was dealing works by legendary artists including Norman Rockwell, Erte, Nicola Simbari and Pittsburgh native Andy Warhol with operations spanning from their first location in Seven Springs Mountain Resort to Shadyside and Downtown Pittsburgh. In the 1980s, the business added a publishing division in partnership with illustrators Robert Peak and Bernie Fuchs as well as local artists Nat Youngblood, John Shyrock and Tom Mosser.
Today, Maser Galleries houses the largest inventory of paintings and limited edition works on canvas in the City with an eclectic collection ranging from etchings by Rembrandt to pop art by Burton Morris and everything in between.
“I am so grateful for every person that has walked through that door,” says Brenda Maser in reflection of her 50 years selling art from their gallery on Walnut Street. “We are so proud to have been able to raise a family together by working in this special business, and to play a part in introducing our beloved Pittsburgh community to amazing artists from all over the world.”
