SEA WIND: A Faculty and Guest Artist Recital
Dr. Kevin Lee Sun, piano with special guest artist Dr. Daniel De Togni, composer & shakuhachi

Friday, February 20, 2026 | 7:30 p.m.
PNC Recital Hall, Mary Pappert School of Music (Duquesne University)

Dr. Kevin Lee Sun (faculty, Duquesne University) and Dr. Daniel De Togni (faculty, University of Central Arkansas and Hendrix College) present a collaborative recital program featuring piano, percussion, and shakuhachi (Japanese bamboo flute). Four compositions by Dr. De Togni will be performed by the two faculty and by Duquesne students, including the world premiere of “Death Poems” for shakuhachi and piano, which Dr. Sun commissioned. Solo piano masterworks by Stefan Wolpe and living composer Hyo-shin Na round out this spirited, powerful program. The whole recital contemplates nature, ephemerality, memory, and the evocation of beauty in a violent and dissonant world.
