Celebrating 500 Years of Violin: A Musical Afternoon
After a wonderful summer festival this past June, we are thrilled to announce that the Blairsville Chamber Music Festival is expanding into a year-round concert series, presented by the Blairsville Music Society. This new initiative will bring world-class music to our community throughout the year, building on the energy and joy of our summer season.
To open our fall season, we invite you to join us for: Celebrating 500 Years of Violin: A Musical Afternoon.
The afternoon begins with a lively talk by Artistic Director and violinist Avital Mazor, exploring the history of the violin through conversation, stories, and hands-on interaction with instruments. Then, enjoy a concert with Avital Mazor and pianist Ksenia Kurenysheva, featuring works by Giovanni Battista Fontana, Johann Sebastian Bach, Ludwig van Beethoven, Niccolò Paganini, Robert Schumann, Eugène Ysaÿe, Béla Bartók which highlight the violin’s expressive voice across the centuries.
