Our father died in 1969, unexpectedly. It's a profound loss we all have felt ever since. Elizabeth's sketch always had a special significance. Even though we have a few photographs of him during the war, her sketch captures his inner nature, his character and sensitivity. Thanks so much for making the documentary "Portraits for the Homefront!" - Michael Mann - April 24, 2017. ------------------------------ (Editor's note: The Mann family sent this portrait of their father, Jack A. Mann, after seeing our WQED documentary "Portraits for the Home Front: The Story of Elizabeth Black." - David Solomon, Executive Producer)
