My father wanted his war memorabilia to be sent to the 100th Bombardment Group Museum after he and my mom passed. My husband and I have been in touch with Mike Faley, the historian for the 100th Bomb Group, and he texted me the link to your documentary on Elizabeth Black. Imagine my surprise to learn of her life and great commitment to the service men of WWII. I grew up with this sketch of my dad in my home. So I can only assume he brought the portrait home with him after his discharge in 1944. My dad didn’t really talk about the sketch that much, but we had it on the wall all of my life, and I am 70. I am so happy that Elizabeth found it in her heart to capture the youth and personality of these men in the service during World War II. My dad was only 17 in May 1944, and I know he appreciated her gift. I have appreciated it all of my life. - Sandra and Ken Sartin, Goodyear, Arizona, July 31, 2020.
