Uncle Adrian was very dear to me and universally beloved in our family. Thank you for taking the time to find out what you can about this portrait. As I remember the story, the portrait was mailed home to his mother from overseas while he was in France and was received with joy. My grandmother had four sons serving in WWII at the same time, three in Europe and the fourth (my father) in the South Pacific.
