Join WQED all season for a hauntingly good line-up of programs sure to send a shiver down your spine!

Every Thursday night at 8:00 p.m. we’re celebrating Pittsburgh’s unique connection to horror, Halloween, and the wonderfully weird – with local horror films and documentaries, resurrected clips from the archives, spooktacular new episodes of Nebbin’ Around Town and Lucky to Live in Pittsburgh, and more.

And if that isn’t enough to make you sleep with the lights on, the un-dead are coming for you. George A. Romero’s 1968 classic Night of the Living Dead was filmed just outside Pittsburgh and cemented the region as the birthplace of modern horror. Experience this genre-defining film with back-to-back airings on WQED-TV on Halloween night and a special live screening on October 27.

About Your Hosts

High above on the slopes of Swissvale, Pennsylvania, Trundle Manor opens its doors to all those curious and daring enough to scale the crumbling steps of this Pittsburgh institution. Mr. Arm and Velda Von Minx, a “definitely not eternal” pair of peculiarly joyous monsters, curate a wunderkammer of local proportions. Murky jars of unimaginable beasts, absurd medical tools resting on silver platters, strange devices full of blinking lights and “science-y” magic, and a vague threat of becoming part of the collection fill every moment inside these walls. Those who take the tour or join in their revelry may all be unique, but those who exit will never be the same.
