Telling The Story
Wednesday mid-week chapel services will be a blend of Scripture readings provided by the Rev. Martin Ankrum, pastor/head of staff at First Presbyterian, and musical interpretations under the direction of John Salveson, Minister of Music and church organist and Marc Tourre with assistance from Bridget Deveney, Seton Hill University Sacred Music intern.
December 4 provides a pasticcio telling the story of the incarnation through the music of composers John Jacob Niles, Fred Gramann, Mark Shepherd and Max Reger. The program also includes oboist Amelia Van Howe.
December 11, the advent hymn Savior of the Nations Come with a fresh setting by Georg Bohm will be showcased.
December 18, a short cantata, Rejoice, Beloved Christians by Dietrich Buxtehude, will be presented.
