He leads the organization’s transformation from a traditional broadcaster into a modern, community-centered resource for local connection, learning, and growth. He is focused on preserving WQED’s historic television and radio services while creating new ways for the organization to bring people together, share meaningful stories, and serve communities throughout southwestern Pennsylvania.

Jason works to make WQED more relevant, accessible, and valuable to more people across the region. He believes the power of local media extends beyond broadcasting to helping neighbors better understand one another, connecting audiences with trusted organizations and resources, and creating shared experiences rooted in the community. His leadership is guided by a clear sense of purpose, measurable community impact, and a commitment to positioning WQED for long-term service and growth.

At Tribune Company, he created two successful businesses while the company was undergoing bankruptcy. At Gannett, he updated the digital strategy for websites serving more than 150 million people and substantially improved employee retention by aligning team members’ responsibilities with their strengths. He has led teams through turnaround, reinvention, and rapid growth while maintaining a consistent focus on mission, audience needs, and organizational sustainability.
