Tom Bechtel

Tom Bechtel is an Audit Partner at PwC, based in Pittsburgh, with over 19 years of experience advising private companies across the technology, media, telecommunications, and consumer sectors. He specializes in audit and business advisory services and is a licensed CPA in both Pennsylvania and Ohio. He previously served as a board member and finance committee chair for Towards Employment, a Cleveland-based nonprofit, and has led pro bono consulting, volunteer engagement, and philanthropic initiatives on their behalf.

Mr. Bechtel is passionate about WQEDโ€™s educational mission and its power to build community through storytelling. Having grown up watching Mister Rogersโ€™ Neighborhood, he still reflects its spiritโ€”symbolically trading his work shoes for sneakers at the end of the day. Now a resident of Pittsburgh, he is excited to contribute to WQEDโ€™s financial strength and long-term sustainability.

He holds a bachelorโ€™s degree in accounting from Miami University in Ohio. In addition to prior nonprofit board service, Mr. Bechtel actively supports the Magee-Womens Research Institute and Foundation, UPMC Childrenโ€™s Hospital Foundation, and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Western Pennsylvania. He is a member of the United Way Tocqueville Society and lives in southern Butler County.
