Drew Peterson
Drew Peterson brings nearly two decades of international experience across government, academia, private enterprise, and nonprofits. Adjunct faculty at Pittโs School of Public and International Affairs, Mr. Peterson also has a geopolitical risk advisory practice and holds consultative roles with 2430 Group, National Foreign Affairs Training Center, and National Strategic Research Institute, among others.
During 12 years in the U.S. Foreign Service, he served as advisor, speechwriter, or assistant to nearly a dozen senior officials at the Department of State and Department of Defense, including four ambassadors. He was a director on the staff of the White Houseโs National Security Council and served as a diplomat in Israel, Kazakhstan, and Lithuania, including as an attachรฉ promoting American culture, media, and performing arts.
Mr. Petersonโs writing has appeared in The National Interest, Foreign Service Journal, and other publications. He sits on the steering board of the Pittsburgh Committee on Foreign Relations and is a recent term member of the Council on Foreign Relations. He holds degrees from Georgetown and Harvard.
A lifelong appreciator of classical, choral, and sacred music, he is particularly committed to ensuring that WQED-FM and all WQED properties enjoy fiscal sustainability and independence built upon a foundation of broad community engagement for generations to come.
