Chatón Turner

Chatón Turner is Vice President Civil Rights, Regulatory Affairs, Disability Resources, & External Relations at UPMC, where she has led key initiatives to reduce litigation risk and expand access to healthcare services for individuals with disabilities. With over 15 years of experience in healthcare law, operations, and compliance, she is recognized for her leadership in strategic planning, risk management, and advancing workplace equity. She also served for a decade as an adjunct professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.

Ms. Turner is passionate about WQED’s commitment to education, storytelling, and community connection. She became involved to help ensure that women, children, and underrepresented communities see themselves reflected in the media and have access to the resources that empower them to thrive.

She holds a B.A. from the University of Virginia and a J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law. She is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and several U.S. District Courts. In addition to her legal and executive work, she writes and speaks nationally about motherhood, equity, and professional balance, and is the founder of the blog Chatón’s World.

She resides on Pittsburgh’s North Shore with her family.
