Short Description of the Program:
Happy Holidays In Pittsburgh celebrates some of the things that people
in Western Pennsylvania do at the beginning of winter when days
are short and weather can be wicked. WQED producer Rick Sebak
and his crew have captured a variety of worship services, public
events, parties and seasonal attractions in a warm and sometimes
wacky take on the customs, traditions and happenings that distinguish
the holidays around Pittsburgh, PA. The program includes a number
of manger scenes, lots of evergreen trees, scenes of Hanukah,
Ramadan, Christmas and Kwanzaa, as well as plenty of shopping,
folk dancing, looking at lights, feasting on seven fishes and
checking out the giant miniature railroad at the Carnegie Science
Center.
