Event Show Description:
Just in time for those on-air renewers, Rhythm,
Love and Soul is the all new sequel concert for R&B40.
Aretha Franklin, co-hosts her very first PBS fundraising special
made for pledge with an all star line-up of 60's and
70's R&B performers singing their greatest love songs. The cast
includes many "pledge moments" from co-hosts Lou Rawls,
Mary Wilson, Gloria Gaynor and special guest MC Demon Wilson.
The 1960s and '70s featured some of the very best love songs and
slow jams in American R&B history. Members will be encouraged
to join throughout the program by the stars that made the memories.
Edwin Starr (25 Miles) reunites with The Originals for his classic
recordings, Peaches and Herb are "Reunited," Dennis Edwards
Temptations belt out their biggest hits and stunning smooth grooves
from The Manhattans, Barbara Mason, Thelma Houston and many more
are performed for pledge dollars.
