GENERAL INFORMATION

In a city filled with unusual landmarks, there's one that nearly everybody knows - West Hollywood's Tail O' The Pup. Probably the only place in the country where you can eat a hotdog cooked inside a giant hotdog.

Tail O' The Pup's toasty brown bun, smoky red frankfurter and sunny yellow mustard lend a spot of whimsy to busy San Vicente Boulevard. It's been at its current location for more than 25 years, serving French fries, hamburgers and, of course, hotdogs to a steady stream of loyal customers. The place is owned and run by Dennis Blake and his father. Dennis says the Tail O' The Pup opened back in 1946 when Los Angeles was a haven for unusual architecture. The one-of-a-kind building has been featured in numerous movies and television programs and has attracted visitors from all over the world. And for a hot dog lover, it's a little bit of heaven in the middle of L.A.
