This WQED production takes viewers on an aerial sightseeing tour of some of the most visually stunning attractions in Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, Washington and Westmoreland counties. Skyscrapers and rivers, universities, mountains, pastures and parkways are all shot using the latest aerial camera technology.
From our helicopter high above the sights, the WQED HD cameras capture the views of these breathtaking locations. Winter white and spring greens paint the buildings and scenery in true seasonal beauty. In this 60-minute program focusing on winter, spring and summer, our unique and entertaining angle allows the majesty and diversity of our landscape to shine through.

Pittsburgh From The Air II
WQED presents the much-anticipated Pittsburgh From The Air II, a follow-up to the 2011 production that took viewers on an aerial sightseeing tour of the Pittsburgh region. While the original program was filmed predominantly in winter and summer, Pittsburgh From The Air II showcases the beauty of Western Pennsylvania in autumn and spring. Highlights include aerial views of the Pittsburgh Marathon, the Great Allegheny Passage bike trail, historic covered bridges, Youghiogheny River Lake, Friday night football at several local stadiums, and much more.
An AStar helicopter equipped with the Cineflex V14 (a high-definition gyroscopic camera) captured the stunning images as it swooped over mountains, valleys, rivers, gorges, skyscrapers and towns to showcase the natural beauty of the region. Pennsylvania counties featured include Allegheny, Beaver, Westmoreland, Washington, Fayette, Lawrence and Somerset.
