CELEBRATION FROM CENTRAL PARK
SOUTH SIDE WORKS CINEMA

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 26, 2009 AT 4 PM

Join WQED Pittsburgh at South Side Works Cinema on Saturday, September 26 at 4 p.m. to celebrate the premiere of award-winning producer Ken Burns' latest PBS series, "The National Parks: America's Best Idea."

This non-broadcast event, LIVE from Central Park will include: musical performances from talent such as Gavin DeGraw, Alison Krauss and Union Station; a sneak peek at the new six-part series premiering Sunday, September 27 at 8 p.m. on WQED-TV; and appearances from Burns and other performers!

Guests of WQED attending this FREE screening will also receive a $10 dining certificate for McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurant and 15% off the purchase of one item from Recreational Equipment, Inc. (REI) when they show their event ticket at the register, both located at South Side Works.

Join the National Park Service at one of the National Parks in western Pennsylvania to celebrate National Public Lands Day on September 26 and preview the new film by Ken Burns, "The National Parks: America's Best Idea." All park entrance fees are waived for the day.

ALLEGHENY PORTAGE RAILROAD NATIONAL HISTORIC SITE
Preview the new Ken Burns film throughout the day at the park visitor center and learn about opportunities to volunteer at the park.

FLIGHT 93 NATIONAL MEMORIAL
Join park staff at the Temporary Memorial to conduct a general cleanup. Activities will include gathering tribute items to be placed in the Memorial collection, litter pickup, and general care of large tribute items. Park Rangers will be available to share information on how you can become a Volunteer In Park (V.I.P.) and other volunteer opportunities at the national memorial.

FRIENDSHIP HILL NATIONAL HISTORIC SITE
Enjoy FestiFall 2009, the annual celebration of the life and times of Albert Gallatin, the original owner of Friendship Hill. A market fair, historic foods, American Indian and Revolutionary War encampments will all be offered. The National Park Service will also present a sneak preview to the new Ken Burns documentary, "The National Parks: America's Best Idea," in a special tent set up on the grounds. The special 45 minute screening will be shown at 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 3:00 p.m. on both days of the festival.

FORT NECESSITY NATIONAL HISTORIC SITE
