The Afro American Music Institute has had a lasting impact on the students it serves, by teaching the craft and culture of African American musical forms. "Perfect Pitch" is the premiere episode of the WQED Series Portrayal & Perception: African American Men & Boys. In this episode, Minette Seate shows how the Afro American Music Institute’s Boys Choir has built a legacy of mentorship for African American males in our area. The program goes beyond choir rehearsals to meet the people responsible for this culture of responsibility to one’s community.

American Legion Post 450

Like many other American Legion posts, Walter Robinson Post 450 in Sewickley is suffering from declining membership and difficulty maintaining its financial footing. Post 450 has a special meaning to the black residents of Sewickley who proudly celebrate that small borough’s tradition of military service. That is why they are working hard on saving Post 450.

Dreidel

After the Menorah, one of the most recognized symbol of Hanukkah is the dreidel. And there's a rabbi in Greensburg who has been collecting them for 25 years. As Tonia Caruso reported years back, Rabbi Sara Rea Perman is tops in collecting this Hanukkah toy.
