A
Musical Tribute to America
A celebration
of music, a tribute to America,
Red, White & Rock is yet another talent-packed production
of WQED Pittsburgh's American Soundtrack Concert Series.
American
Soundtrack: Red, White & Rock is a blast of musical
diversity, a concert like no other. Legendary artists Frankie Avalon,
Jerry Butler, Connie Francis and Frankie Valli host the live reunion
with over twenty groups performing for PBS audiences and for the
preservation of the "American soundtrack."
Celebrating
America and its various music genres, American
Soundtrack: Red, White & Rock takes the musical journey
from The Kingsmen's "Louie, Louie," to "The Tears
of a Clown" by the Miracles, to the romantic classic by the
Righteous Brothers "Unchained Melody" to a Connie Francis
rendition of "God Bless America."
The
All-American, all-star line up also features Tommy James & the
Shondells, The Toys, Dee Dee Sharp, The Chords, Shirley Alston Reeves
(the original voice of the Shirelles), The Dixie Cups, Sonny Geraci,
the Four Tops and many more.
American
Soundtrack: Red, White & Rock premieres in Pittsburgh
on WQED TV13, on Sunday, August 11 at 8pm and will air nationally
in November.
American Soundtrack:
Red, White & Rock is a production of WQED Pittsburgh, Executive
Producer, T.J. Lubinsky. Produced in association with Rhino Entertainment
and PBS. US Airways is the official airline of American
Soundtrack: Red, White & Rock
