We did something yesterday that we’ve never done before.  We opened a hotel. 

We’re staying in Wilkes-Barre and after a 6 hour drive from Erie, we were struggling to find out why we couldn’t find our hotel.  I booked the place online and we followed their directions perfectly until the end except the hotel wasn’t there.  Can I just tell you how wonderful it is to not know where you’re hotel is after a 6 hour drive?!?!

Anyhoo, we are guys so we drove around for a good 45 minutes before calling the phone number on the sheet that I had printed out.  I’m sure I appeared calm and collected when I talked to the woman at the front desk and my first question was “WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU?!?!?!” 

The reason we couldn’t find the place was easy… there was no sign.  Our bad!  So after finally crawling in through the front doors 5 minutes later, the Front Desk person told me they were sorry, that they had just opened up at NOON THAT DAY!  IT WAS THEIR FIRST DAY!  Although the new-hotel-smell is nice, it made a long day that much longer.

I’m sure there’s a moral to this story in here somewhere, but after eating dinner at 11:45pm and rolling into bed at 1:30am, I just can’t figure out what it is.  But the place does have a nice view ‘eh?  – Dave R
