Found this old Brooklyn favorite at Merante’s Groceria in Oakland. What memories.
It’s not a cookie and it’s not a cupcake. It’s something in between with spongy cake shaped like a flying saucer and a very sweet fondant frosting in pure white and dark chocolate. This version was actually pretty good but it was made in Clifton, NJ. Any one know of another local source?
