American
Soundtrack: Rock at Fifty (1955-1965),
a collaboration of rock, pop, and great doo-wop, was taped in
May at the Benedum
Center
in Downtown Pittsburgh. It's the latest installment in PBS's
popular "American Soundtrack" fundraising series -
and Pittsburghers get to see it first, as it's not scheduled
to air
around the
country until December.
The
three-hour show has an impressive line-up of performers, including:
The Heartbeats, The Jaguars, The Fiestas, Terry Johnson's Flamingos,
Bo Diddley and the Debby Hastings Band, Jack Scott, Brian Hyland,
Darlene Love, Gerry and The Pacemakers and Gary U.S. Bonds.
