Legacy Society
When you leave a bequest to WQED Pittsburgh you help ensure WQED's programs and services will be available for future generations by including WQED Pittsburgh in your estate plan, stock divestments or investments. You will be recognized as a member of our Legacy Society, a recognition society to honor those who provide for WQED Pittsburgh through a bequest.

Bequests
Bequests to WQED Pittsburgh are easy to make. You can designate your bequest for a specific purpose, or allow us to use your gift where it is most needed (unrestricted).
We are happy to work with you and your attorney to determine the best way to achieve your philanthropic goals. Everyone should have a will regardless of age or wealth. Additionally, there are tax advantages to bequeathing a gift to WQED Pittsburgh, a 501(c) (3) organization. Gifts of Stock
If you have highly appreciated stock that you have owned for more than one year, you may find that a gift of stock is more cost-effective than giving cash.

First, by contributing the stock, you save the capital gains tax you would otherwise be subject to if the stock were sold. Second, you are entitled to an income tax charitable deduction for the full market value of the stock on the date of your gift.
Example: Jessica purchased stock ABC a few years ago for $10,000. The stock is currently valued at $20,000. She contributes the stock to WQED Pittsburgh, a 501(c) (3) organization. Jessica not only avoids paying any capital gains on the increased value of the stock (in this case, $10,000) but she is also entitled to claim the full market value of the stock as a tax deduction - $20,000. As with any gift to WQED Pittsburgh, you may direct your support to fund WQED-TV 13 and/or WQED-FM 89.3, or allow us to use your gift where it is most needed. There are several quick and easy ways to make a gift of stock to WQED Pittsburgh.

Vehicle Donation
Donate a vehicle to WQED Multimedia and help fuel public broadcasting for the entire community. We'll take cars, trucks, vans, RV's, boats if they are on a trailer, and motorcycles that are running.
