WQED WELCOMES KWEILIN NASSAR AS
DIRECTOR OF BROADCAST SALES
PITTSBURGH – WQED welcomes back one of its own. Kweilin Nassar has been named Director of Broadcast Sales for the company. She will be responsible for program and project underwriting/sponsorship and revenue generation for WQED’s four television signals, two radio stations and WQED Interactive.
“Kweilin has a stellar reputation in this market,” said Deborah l. Acklin, President and Chief Executive Officer of WQED. “She has deep contacts in this community through her career in television, radio and the nonprofit world. I’ve known her personally for many years and we worked together when she was at WQED several years ago. We welcome her back to the WQED family.”
Nassar was most recently Project Director for Highmark Healthy High 5 Initiative at the Highmark Foundation, where she was responsible for branding, communications, educational advertising strategy, website, marketing, and parent engagement.
Prior to that she was Executive Director of River City Brass Band, Director of Development at Carnegie Science Center, and spent eleven years at WQED from 1990 to 2001 in various positions, including Director of Local Marketing, Manager of Promotions/Marketing and Director of Community Relations.
Nassar was at KDKA-TV from 1976 to 1986, where she was Director of Public Affairs for Group W Television’s flagship commercial station in Pittsburgh.
She is active in the community and is a Commissioner on the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission and former Board Chair of the Pennsylvania/Delaware Affiliate of the American Heart Association.
