PITTSBURGH – WQED Multimedia has named Carole Bailey, CPA as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the company effective November 3. She will also be Treasurer as an Officer of WQED Multimedia.
Ms. Bailey will be responsible for all aspects of WQED finances, including the company’s budget, financial reporting, payroll, grant compliance and projects.
“Carole brings a wealth of financial background to WQED,” said Deborah L. Acklin, President and Chief Executive Officer.
“Her experience spans the non-profit and the for-profit world, and her prior work with WQED means that she is already familiar with the inner workings of the company. She will be a great asset to the organization.”
Ms. Bailey has volunteered her service as a member of the WQED Board of Directors, where she served on the Finance, Business and Operations Committee since 2008. Her resignation from the Board is effective October 26.
Ms. Bailey is President of Bailey Management Consulting, where she advises executives in financial and operations management. Prior to that she was Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Manchester Bidwell Corporation; Director of Finance and Accounting at the Institute for Transfusion Medicine; Manager of Financial Reporting at Allegheny Health, Education and Research Foundation; and Audit Manager at Schneider Downs & Co., Inc.
In addition to her service on the WQED Board, she is active in many professional and community organizations, including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants; Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants; The Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh audit committee;; Planned Parenthood of Western Pennsylvania where she is currently the Treasurer of the Board; Jewish Women’s Foundation; Community Day School audit committee.
