PITTSBURGH – WQED-FM89.3 personalities will be on hand for two performances during this summer’s First Fridays at the Frick concert series. This year’s series commemorates Pittsburgh’s 250th birthday with performances by Pittsburgh-based musical artists on summer evenings in beautiful Frick Park.

WQED-FM89.3’s Anna Singer emcees the performance on Friday, June 6 when the Pittsburgh Opera Center Young Artists perform. Hailed as one of the country’s leading training programs for young singers, Pittsburgh Opera Artist returns to the Frick to kick off the 2008 season of encore performances.

WQED-FM89.3’s Ted Sohier is emcee for the Pittsburgh Symphony Brass on Friday, August 1. The Pittsburgh Symphony Brass includes some of the world’s finest orchestra brass musicians playing in chamber ensemble and exploring a wide range of musical expression.

First Fridays at the Frick concerts are performed on the lawn of the Frick Art & Historical center in Point Breeze and begin at 7pm. Suggested donation is $5 per person and children are free. Audience members are welcome to bring a picnic basket or may order a la carte selections from The Café.
