Sarris Candies. Pretty much the entire Canonsburg store is online, from a simple half-pound bag of chocolate-covered pretzels to grand holiday-packaged assortments. Also find nuts, meltaways, butter mints and more.

Annex Cookery. The Web-only cookware store still brews up a fine cuppa. Find Caravalli coffee plus espresso-makers, cappuccino-makers and other equipment from Capresso and Krups (as well as other cookware).

Torani syup, $8.95.

Fortunes Coffee Roastery Inc. Chai, anyone? Or want to roast your own beans? The Strip District coffee roaster offers 14 varieties of green coffee and the coffee roaster for those who really want a custom cup. Also find blended, flavored and organic coffees and teas, syrups, cocoas and brewing equipment.

La Prima. Select from dozens of premium blended, flavored or certified organic coffees, teas and flavored cocoas, plus the Strip District's exclusive chocolate syrup. Coffee-making equipment also available on the no-nonsense site. MasterCard, Visa and Amex.

Nicholas Coffee Co. The more you buy, the more discounts you can get through the "buyers club" at this Market Square landmark. Choose from dozens of premium blended and/or flavored teas and coffees, plus syrups, teapots and other brewing necessities.

Butler's Secret / Palate Partners. Yes, you can send gift baskets that include wine. The Strip District shop for specialty cookware and tableware, along with Dreadnought Wines, offers a variety of gift baskets with wine, gourmet foods and items to help along the enjoyment of both, from artistic corkscrews to roasting pans. There's also a wine- and food-of-the-month-club option.

Conroy Foods Inc. Select a gift basket or sleigh of Beano's deli condiments, seafood sauces or pizza sauces, with assortments of cookies, Nicholas coffee, pasta and other goodies, or buy the sauces in whole cases from the O'Hara sub master. MasterCard and Visa only.

The Italian Survival Kit, $35.

Delallo. Find most of the Jeannette-based store online. Select a gift basket like "The Italian Survival Kit" (pasta, sauce, breadsticks, pasta-server), or put together your own assortment of olive oil, deli meats, cheese, pasta and sauce -- plus tools like a pizzelle-maker, cavatelli-maker, etc.

Other Edibles

Enrico Biscotti Co. Choose from almost 20 kinds of biscotti ranging from traditional anise/almond to black pepper/walnut. Purchase by the bag, half-dozen, dozen, drizzled with white or dark chocolate, or by the Big Red Tin (2 pounds.) $6 shipping per order. Visa, MasterCard and Discover.

Case of 12 bags, $16.07.

Herrs' Foods Inc. OK, it's kind of stretching it to call this eastern Pennsylvania snack-maker "local," but when you have expatriate friends with a yen for Herr's barbecue potato chips or one of the 15 other flavors, well, the only question is whether to ship a whole case or a fancy gift tin. Also find crackers, pork rinds, onion rings and a few toys.

Jamison Farm. It's not just us saying this is the best lamb in the United States, but food writers from The New York Times to The Los Angeles Times singing the praises of John and Sukey Jamison's lamb, free of hormones, antibiotics, herbicides and insecticides. Order cuts of meat or prepared soup, stew, stock, sausage or lamb pie directly from the Latrobe farm.

Maple Syrup of Pennsylvania. Oatmeal becomes a gourmet breakfast when sprinkled with maple crumb sugar. This no-frills Ligonier producer ships three grades of syrup, plus sugar and maple candy.

Pennsylvania Macaroni Co. Find a huge variety of imported and domestic pastas, tomato products, olive oils and vinegars, or send a gift basket like the "Dinner for Two" Italian feast, from pasta to Amaretti cookies. Italian coffees also available. Overnight orders for shipment the same day must be placed by 2 p.m. Visa and MasterCard only.

Shenot's Farm Market. Send locally grown apples and homemade fudge (like penuche, plain or pecan) in gift baskets from this Marshall Township farm. Figure an extra $7 for overweight and oversized items. Visa, MasterCard and Discover.

Stello Foods. Ship a taste of Pennsylvania to dozens of countries around the world from this Punxsutawney purveyor. There's very little in the way of pre-made gift baskets, but you can put together your own selection of Rose's red pepper spreads, Isaly's barbecue sauce, Twin Thyme Farms herbal vinegars and more, then calculate shipping charges right online.

The Unique Snack Shack. For once, the word "unique" is not mere hyperbole. If your gift list includes someone who loves pig's feet, turkey gizzards, lamb or veal tongue, pickled eggs or simply Penn State salsa or the Insanity Sauce (billed as "the hottest sauce on the market"), here you are. Stuff is sold by the case or the piece, not "gifty" selections. There is an ever-changing product list, so not everything is listed all the time at this Cameron County shop. Visa and MasterCard only.

Whole Atlantic salmon, $5.99/lb.

Wholey's. Yes, you can use the Internet to catch fish: smoked, frozen or fresh oysters, clams, shrimp, lobster, trout and many other fish from the popular Strip District wholesaler/retailer. Imagine -- for a really special couple -- sending a gift basket of king crab legs, lobster tails (and the tools to help you get out every last morsel), plus shrimp, seafood sauce and more. At $199.95 (includes shipping), it's the most extravagant gift.
