The following pages are populated with young professionals who make Pittsburgh a better place in which to live. The work they do is significant, but in some cases it's what they do off-hours that makes this region more interesting and alive for all of us.

In partnership with Pittsburgh Urban Magnet Project (PUMP), a panel of judges (many of them previous "40 Under 40" notables themselves) chose the seventh annual collection of regional overachievers.

Then, Pittsburgh magazine editors set forth a challenge to the winners: Create a personal statement in 40 words or fewer. The winners' words, like their work, offer a snapshot into the lively and innovative events taking place in this region today... >>>
